Ryder Federal Credit Union Live on Mercury

On November 1, 2004, a Mercury team from Salt Lake City took the Ryder Federal Credit Union of Miami, Florida, live and open for member transactions.

Our team moved very rapidly in the weeks prior to the conversion, due to the rapid turnaround which this client needed, commented Hugh Butler, VP of the Mercury section of Fidelity Integrated Financial Solutions.

Thanks to the extra efforts and expertise of our team and the superb staff of the credit union, we converted systems accurately and ahead of schedule in almost all aspects.

An entirely new audio response menu was developed over the weekend and is still being enhanced. Check printing was temporarily converted from an expensive origination vendor solution to a Mercury standard laser check solution. In early 2005, Mercury will be originating checks on plain paper, replacing the vendor which the previous system relied upon for this function at no additional cost to the credit union.

Mr. Ken Glenn, CEO of Ryder Federal Credit Union, had prepared his staff and membership for a tough conversion with delays and functional problems. Despite extreme challenges which cropped up throughout the very long weekend, Mr. Glenn and his staff stayed engaged and actively helped make the Monday morning opening possible.

Mercury team members Lori Laver, Melissa Roberts, Hugh Butler, Jeani Wright, Derrick Pope, Marsha Butler and Shaun Gehman were joined by a representative from the ATM/Debit card processor to make this key client conversion possible. Neal Baker and Camron Tucker in Salt Lake City played key roles in data conversion and online functionality. Camron found himself constructing an IVR (integrated voice response) system menu item by menu item throughout the weekend and beyond.

The credit union is also installing the Smart Collector and online banking systems from Fidelity IFS.
