Mercury Upgrade Installation Overview

 

*** Mercury Version 7 is Available Online !!! ***

Online Gateway Version 7 and MDS Version 7 are also available (If applicable)

Important 2007 Tax changes are included in Mercury Version 7.

You must install Version 7 before you create you tax files!

 

IMPORTANT! Mercury must be on build 6.1.52 or higher to install this update successfully.
Do not plan to install this upgrade before or during a business day!  There are significant changes and, possibly time-consuming steps you’ll have to take during and after the upgrade. Please plan on doing your upgrade after hours or on a non-business day. 


Please read the complete Installation document carefully before beginning your upgrade.

 

1. Create a shared folder to download programs to. (Recommended folder name Mercury Downloads)
2. Download Mercury Version 7 Documentation www.mercurydelivers.com/support/documentation/
3. Download Mercury Version 7 Software www.mercurydelivers.com/support/downloads to previously named folder “Mercury Downloads” and unzip files.  If you are using any online services or Mercury Data Solutions you will also need to download the latest version of these programs.
4. Copy software to CD’s and Label if desired
5. Gather the following information before beginning
  a. SQL Server Name
  b. SQL Administrator Login
  c. SQL Administrator Password
  d. Organization Database Name
    This is usually your Mercury Client number followed by the letters cu (1234cu)
  e. Control Database Name
    This is usually your Mercury Client number followed by the letters ctl (1234ctl)
  f. Destination Folder for Mercury installation
    If you are unsure of the destination folder where Mercury is installed, you can determine the location by:
      - Right Click on your Mercury Icon
      - Left click on properties
      - In the Start In Box you will see something similar to:
        P C:\ Program Files \CCCORP\MERCURY\ if you are on the C: drive (this is the default location)
        P D:\ Program Files \CCCORP\MERCURY\ if you are on the D: drive
        P E:\ Program Files \CCCORP\MERCURY\ if you are on the E: drive
6. Backup your data before you start the installation. (Very important, DO NOT skip this step)
7. Stop and close the Maxxar and/or Gateway programs if applicable
8. Stop the Mercury Scheduler Services if applicable
9. Stop the Mercury Digital Dialogue Services if applicable
10. Log on to Windows with a user that is a member of the Administrator Group
11. Close any open programs on the computer before beginning the installation



Installing the Server

 

1. Browse to Mercury Downloads folder and double click on setup.exe or insert the Version 7 Installation CD into your Server, the installation wizard will automatically load.
2. Click Database from the Setup Console
  a. Click Next
  b. Click Continue
  c. Enter your SQL Server Name
  d. Enter your SQL Administrator Login
  e. Enter your SQL password
  f. Enter your Organization Database name (1234cu)
  g. Click Continue
    You will get a message that the Organization Database Update is complete
  h. Click Continue
  i. Verify your SQL Server Name
  j. Verify your SQL Administrator Login
  k. Verify your SQL password
  l. Verify your Control Database name (1234ctl)
  m. Click Continue
 

 

You will get a message that the Control Database Update is complete
  n. Click Finish
3. Click Server from the Setup Console
  a. Click Next
  b. Click Next
  c. Verify the drive letter and destination folder you want Mercury to be installed on (The default is C:\Program Files\CCCORP)
  d. Click Next
  e. Click Typical
  f. Click Next
  g. Click Next
  h. Click Finish
4. Reboot the Server when/if prompted
5. Browse to Mercury Downloads folder and double click on setup.exe or re-insert the Version 7 Installation CD , the installation wizard will automatically load
6. Click Workstation from the Setup Console
 

a.

Click Next
 

b.

Click Next
 

c.

Enter your Mercury Client number when prompted
 

d.

Click Next
 

e.

Verify the drive letter and destination folder you want Mercury to be installed on (The default is C:\Program Files\CCCORP)
 

f.

Click Next
 

g.

Click Typical
 

h.

Click Next
 

i.

Click Next
 

j.

Click Finish
7. Reboot the Server when/if prompted
8. Browse to Mercury Downloads folder and double click on setup.exe or re-insert the Version 7 Installation CD, the installation wizard will automatically load.
9. Click Server ‘Again’ from the Setup Console
 

a.

Click Next

Click Repair
 

c.

Click Next
 

d.

Click Next
 

e.

Click Finish
10. Click Reports from the Setup Console
 

a.

Click Next
 

b.

Click Next
   

Verify the Destination Folder that Reports should be installed on

(The default is C:\Program Files\CCCORP\MERCURY\CrystalReports)

Click Finish
11. Click Scheduler from the Setup Console

Click Next

Enter User Information

Verify the Destination Folder you want Mercury to be installed on

12. Reboot the Server when/if prompted
13. Browse to Mercury Downloads folder and double click on setup.exe or re-insert the Version 7 Installation CD, the installation wizard will automatically load.
14. Click Digital Dialogue from the Setup Console (If Applicable)

 Enter User Information

Click Anyone who uses this computer

Verify the Destination Folder you want Mercury to be installed on

14. Close the Setup Console
15. Reboot the Server when/if prompted



Installing Mercury Online Gateway  (If Applicable)

 

1. Double click on the MercuryOnlineGateway.exe file
 

a.

Click Next
 

b.

Enter User Information
   

Full Name
   

Organization (Credit Union Name)
 

c.

Check the Install Online Gateway Service
 

d.

Check the Run Online Gateway Database upgrade
 

e.

Click Next
 

f.

Verify the Destination Folder that the Online Gateway should be installed on
   

(The default is C:\Program Files\Fidelity IFS\MERCURY\Online Gateway\Library\)
 

g.

Click Next
 

h.

Click Next
 

i.

Enter the Mercury Database information and the SQL Server User Information
   

Full Name
 

h.

Click Next
    Server name (from page 1 of this document)
    Control Database (from page 1 of this document)
    Organization Database (from page 1 of this document)
    SQL Server User (from page 1 of this document)
    SQL Server Password (from page 1 of this document)
 

i.

Click Next
 

j.

Click Finish
2. Login to Mercury and verify that there are no errors and that you can access member’s accounts before proceeding with the workstation installations.



Installing the Workstation(s)

 

1. Browse to Mercury Downloads folder and double click on setup.exe or insert the Version 7 Installation CD, the installation wizard will automatically load.
2. Click Workstation from the Setup Console
 

a.

Click Next
 

b.

Click Next
 

c.

Enter your Mercury Client number when prompted
 

d.

Click Next
 

e.

Enter SQL Server Name
 

f.

Click Next
 

g.

Verify the drive letter and destination folder you want Mercury to be installed on (The default is C:\Program Files\CCCORP)
 

h.

Click Next
 

i.

Click Typical
 

j.

Click Next
 

k.

Click Next
 

l.

Click Finish
3. Reboot the Workstation when/if prompted
4. Login to Mercury and verify that there are no errors and that you can access member’s accounts
5. Repeat the above steps with each workstation (Excluding the Maxxar/Audio Teller station)


Installing the Maxxar (Audio Teller) Workstation

 

NOTE: If you are using the Maxxar TNT Box you will not need to install Mercury on the Maxxar TNT Box.

1. Before you begin you must stop and close the Maxxar software program
2. Browse to Mercury Downloads folder and double click on setup.exe or insert the Version 7 Installation CD, the installation wizard will automatically load.
3. Click Workstation from the Setup Console
 

a.

Click Next
 

b.

Click Custom
 

c.

Click Next
 

d.

Click Maxxar
 

e.

Click Entire feature will be installed on local hard drive
 

f.

Click Next
 

g.

Click Next
 

h.

Click Finish
4. Reboot the Server when/if prompted
5. Verify that Maxxar (Audio Teller) is functional

 

 

Install Mercury Data Solutions  (If Applicable)
 

1. Please refer to the Mercury Data Solutions Users Guide for instructions on installing Version 7 MDS

 

Notify Fidelity IFS of Successful Upgrade

Troubleshooting

 

 

Error Message

If you receive the following error:  Run-time error ‘48’ Error in loading DLL you will need to do a Workstation Repair:

 

1. Browse to Mercury Downloads folder and double click on setup.exe or insert the Version 7 Installation CD, the installation wizard will automatically load.
2. Click Workstation from the Setup Console
 

a.

Click Next
 

b.

Click Repair
 

c.

Click Next
 

d.

Click Next
 

e.

Click Finish
3.

Reboot the Server when/if prompted

4.

Login to Mercury and verify that there are no errors and that you can access member’s accounts

 

Error Message

If you receive the following error:  Run-time-error ‘-2147467238 (8000401a)’:

Automation error

The server process could not be started because the configured identity is incorrect.  Check the username and password you will need to:
 

1. Click on Start
2. Click on Control Panel
3. Double Click on Administrative Tools
4. Double Click on Component Services
5. Expand Component Services
6. Expand Computers
7. Expand My Computer
8. Expand COM + Applications
9. Right Click on Mercury SSBO
10. Click on Identity Tab
11. Select this user
12. Enter an Administrative User
13. Enter Password
14. Click on OK
15. Close Component Services Window
16. Close Administrative Tools Window
17. Open Mercury
